Creating and enforcing educational standards are the responsibilities of each State. To find out the specific standards for your state, visit your State’s Department of Education Web site.

To help unify educational standards across the country, a number of national organizations of education professionals have compiled sets of standards as a resource for the State agencies to help guide them as they develop their own standards. Below you will find summaries of these national standards, the names of the organizations that developed them and a link to the full set of standards.
