We are teaching military children who have come from all over world the importance of caring for our earth along with giving most of them the experience of tasting produce fresh out of the garden. We are also learning to make nutritious snacks with the things that we grow in the garden. The garden is a nature walk in itself, as we have plants butterflies, hummingbirds, and seed-seeking birds love. Daily students spot and observe lizards, pill bugs, and other creepy-crawlies. For many children who have always lived in apartments the garden is an adventure in itself.
