Hansen's Natural
At Hansen's, we know the value of working with nature to make
quality products and we want to continue sharing the knowledge with
future generations. This is why we have teamed up with NGA to help
teach our youth about the benefits of growing their own native
gardens as a way to connect with nature. With each garden, students
will have the chance to learn the value of natural foods and will be
able to make positive connections to products that are made with all
natural ingredients.
Since 1935, we have dedicated ourselves to providing our customers
with superior "better for you" beverages that are made from the
best products possible. To us, this means making products with all
natural ingredients that are not only healthy and refreshing, but
also delicious. Our natural cane sodas contain no artificial flavors,
colors, or high fructose corn syrup. It's what our customers expect
and why weve enjoyed a loyal following for over 70 years.

Attention: San Francisco Bay Educators!
Extending their commitment to provide consumers with quality products made from natural ingredients, Hansen’s Natural is working to spread the message that "Native is Best" for our landscapes. To promote the benefits of using native plants and foster the installation of naturalized gardens in San Francisco Bay schoolyards, Hansen’s is sponsoring the 2009 Hansen's Natural and Native School Garden Grant. Through this program, 3 schools in the San Francisco Bay area will receive a Hansen’s Natural and Native Planting Kit valued at $1,500, including a variety of native plants and gardening supplies.
Who is eligible to apply: Preschool, elementary, and middle schools located in the following San Francisco Bay Area counties are eligible:
- San Francisco
- Alameda
- Contra Costa
- Marin
- San Mateo
- Santa Clara
- Solano

Educators must use the garden to teach students about the role of indigenous plants in their local ecosystem, benefits of using native plants in the landscape, and concerns surrounding invasive plant species. Established and start-up garden programs are encouraged to apply. Schools must have 250 square feet available for the new plant materials.
The garden must be planted during the fall of 2009. Winning schools must be willing to collaborate on press releases and at least 1 school will be selected to host a media event on Friday, October 16. Each school will also be required to submit a final report by May 2010, summarizing program accomplishments and impacts.
