The Hummingbird Web Site - In addition to approximate species' migration dates for the United States and Canada, you'll find loads of inspiration for curriculum connections from hummingbird folklore, history, poetry, and science.

The North American Breeding Bird Survey - Provides hummingbird species distribution maps.

Operation Rubythroat - This first-rate educational site offers cross-disciplinary hummingbird activities and inquiry project ideas for K - 12 teachers.

Natural Instinct - This site is dedicated to collecting and distributing information on the flora and fauna of North America's backyards. Teachers will find hummingbird investigations.

Hummer/Bird Study Group - This nonprofit organization focuses on the study and preservation of hummingbirds and other neotropical migrants. Offers thorough descriptions and identification guidelines of several hummingbird species.

North American Native Plant Society - Looking for native plants for your hummingbird garden? This site lists state and provincial native plant societies that may help you to identify the indigenous plants preferred by hummingbirds in your area.

Native Plants Database - Provided by the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, this database
includes over 2,900 species searchable by a variety of criteria.
