A
Growing Alliance with Hilton Garden Inn
A garden brimming with plants and blooms that
would allure and nourish butterflies and their young. That was
the scenario envisioned by 52 Chicago area elementary school
students and members of a local Hilton Garden Inn hotel team.
Armed with how-to materials, tools, seeds, and other forms of
support from the National Gardening Association, the partners
tackled the challenge and transformed their ideas into a schoolyard
reality.

The project was made possible by a new alliance between the
NGA and Hilton Garden Inn hotels. The School Garden Education
Program brings hotel team members throughout North America together
with local schools to create indoor and outdoor learning gardens
and habitats. But the collaboration doesn't stop there. With
support from NGA , hotel team members and teachers use the schoolyard
oases to help reach learning goals in science and other disciplines,
spark students' curiosity, enhance problem-solving skills, and
promote environmental responsibility.
From Hilton's perspective, the partnership offers
an ideal venue for enabling hotels to contribute actively and
visibly to their communities and, by example, to inspire tomorrow's
leaders to take pride in the work they do.
